Boosting your Google Page Rank

With the recent SEO problems loads of Etsy sellers have lost the page rank that they have worked hard to gain. I have lost a page rank, falling from 4 to 3.

There are a bunch of ways you can start gaining your page rank back. One way is to list your Etsy shop in Link Directories. When you list your shop in a link directory it creates a permanent back link to your shop that Google loves! The more link backs you can create the better your Google Page Rank will can be. This is not a magic fix and will not change your rank over night. This is only one piece to the puzzle.

Here are a few of the link directories.. there are thousands out there.. and these are some FREE ones.

What are you doing these days to boost your rank?

Recently I held a Handmade Town Hall meeting where I covered the topic of SEO for our Etsy shops.. You will find info about how to maximize your Etsy shop for the Google search>> http://budurl.com/HandmadeTownHall

Great information! Thanks. Some of these places were very easy to submit too, others not so much.

Once again, THANKS SO MUCH! You have been an incredible help to me. I'm afraid I would have given up all the promoting long ago without your help.

Hi Tim,

Once again, thanks for sharing.

I have a question though.

Sites such as NetInsert require that you add either a meta or square tag to you site.

Does Etsy allow this? If so, where should the code be placed within my site?

Thanks again,

Cis

I did all of the ones that didn't require the link back. Thanks so much!

I have submitted to some of the directories. Some were not very easy to do. I have added links to the direcotires but not in Etsy I have put them on my blog instead, not sure if that is ok but I will find out!I have found out that my blog has a page rank of 3/10 but my Etsy shop is no where to be seen.

From NetInsert I got this:
"Domain etsy.com has reached the maximum number of web pages allowed to index."

wow, that was great info.
I have to fix my meta tags and now I am understanding a bit better what they are. Thanks Tim.

some of these only work for actual websites and not for Etsy shops. Some of them seem like a lot of confusion and aggravation for very little return. There was a time when my work sold okay on Etsy and now I'm just a little frog in a big pond with a lot less $$ coming in. I'm busy weaving baskets and don't have the time or patience for all this. I have a learning disorder, so the more complicated it gets to market online, the less I am able to do so. It's cool to be part of such a huge site, but it's so not cool to have to compete for income with the rest of you. My only chance at catching up is if I had the bucks to pay someone to do this stuff for me and since the income isn't coming in anymore...

So when are you going to allow us to hire YOUR brilliant services? Since you obviously don't have enough on your plate, lol!

Great tips, thank you so much! But I don't really understand... what do those numbers mean? That my SEO is aligned? That I get over a certain quota of hits and therefore Google likes me? I too am at 4, but I can't imagine I get as many views as you... so what does it mean and how can I improve my score? Adding to more directories?
