Low views... messed up SEO? Take matters into your own hands!!!
I totally agree that the views on Etsy are low... due to the batch listing and the recent SEO mess up....
I have seen the direct effects of the batch listings and the messed up SEO... My Etsy shop has dropped a page rank from 4 to 3 .... i have worked hard to get it to that point and I am losing views in the search engine area.
BUT!!!
I have said this before and will say it again... Take matters into your own hands.
Promote your SHOP....
My top 3 places I get traffic to my Etsy shop are Twitter, Facebok and Blogging. Search engines are next and dead last are views directly from Etsy...
You have to adapt with the changes that are happening. That is what owning your own business is all about. Your business's success is in your hands.. You make it happen not the selling venue you have your shop on.
If your views are low... do something besides complaining about it. That will get you no where and will only discourage you and the people around you. I am not saying not to voice our opinion to admin... just don't dwell on the issue... go make it happen for yourself..GET MOTIVATED.. not discouraged by the circumstances!!!
Tomorrow is the start of a new week, start it off right by taking steps to improve your views. Don't rely on anyone else...IT IS UP TO YOU!!!!!
Please join the Etsy Forum discussion HERE and tell us what you are doing to improve your views this week!

I agree completely with what you wrote Tim. Thanks for posting this. http://lunaessence.etsy.com
Thank you for saying this, Tim. I'm so tired of seeing complaints about this (and anything else that is shop-owner driven) in the forums! It's up to us to create our own success. Etsy is simply a vehicle to help us get there, not the driver of that vehicle!!!!
Tim, this is a refreshing attitude. While I agree Etsy could be doing more/better, they are human, too, and probably have a lot on their plates in addition to the brewing malcontent.
Rolling with the punches and coming out on top no matter what life throws your way is the mark of a true winner.
Doing it with grace and helping others along it the mark of genius. You are doing this.
Congrats to you, and to those who follow your lead.
Right on!!
Amen and Amen!!!!

Sound advice that can be adapted to other aspects of life as well as business.
And I second TheSoMeEx.
very true- thanks tim!
Tim, you hit the nail on the head, again. Promotion should be part of your daily marketing plan, and yes, it can be done for free! Thanks again!
Thank you for posting this. I have spent less time in the forums lately because all I see are complaints. Love your positive attitude!
I agree too but I do all you have said. I promote on Facebook, Twitter, and Blog. But for me my best results have been with Facebook.
Thanks for sharing.

Amen to that! Thanks for the post. I'm still pitifully small, but Twitter, so far, has been my best source for visits. Your advise has played a part.

Timothy - Twitter helps. All your tips help. It's all about being responsible for learning how we are going to find the people who are looking for US! This isn't up to anyone but us, as we wend our way upstream in life. It has always been so and is true today. You are sage and upbeat young whippersnapper, and I am thrilled to keep learning with you.

Thanks for the great article! A lot of people feel it is etsy's fault when things don't go right, but these are ups and downs all business owners must deal with!
Excellent advice. Most of my previous sales had been from new Etsians so I'll just keep doing what I've been doing.
But you are so right about taking matters into your own hands. ;)
Wow! Your very inspiring! What you said is so true! Thanks for the motivation!

I am getting 2000- 25000 views my first week open due to twitter and facebook alone! Started a blog too! I have yet to really conduct a search of what my rankings are -w ill do soon- Another great post Tim
I totally agree that is our job as business owners to promote ourselves. I am finding that when I use Twitter to promote my listings I get more views. I'm having some results with Facebook too. By the way I love your blog posts.

I totally agree with what you said about taking matters in your own hands when it comes to marketing. I get a little tired of hearing complaints from people. No one besides yourself is responsible for your success or failure!
I also agree and have started a blog, I hope I can make it successful to add traffic and sales to my etsy shop.
